BOTTOM LINE: The Athletics hit the road against the Houston Astros looking to continue a three-game road winning streak. Houston has a 33-22 record in home games and a 60-45 record overall. The Astros have the fourth-ranked team on-base percentage in the AL at .322.
The Seattle Mariners head down to Sacramento to take on the Athletics tonight in game one of their three-game series.
But the Athletics’ play-by-play announcer Chris Caray had a doozy on Saturday. Caray, a fourth-generation broadcaster who’s the great-grandson of Harry Caray, badly misjudged a Lawrence Butler ninth-inning, three-run home run to right-center field, stunningly calling it foul before realizing it was gone.
Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz set another team record, tying pitcher Barry Zito with his second straight AL Player of Week win.

Luis Castillo is coming off one of his more sloppy outings of the season. He struck out seven, hit a batter and allowed six runs (three earned) on 10 hits against the Milwaukee Brewers on July 23. He's fanned at least six batters in his last four starts.
