The story coming into the 2025 PGA Championship was the hype around the top 3 stars in the world -- Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau -- all arriving at the year's second major in great form and coming off of recent wins.

The world's top three players were grouped together, and only one — No. 1 ranked Scottie Scheffler — finished under par. Scheffler survived a pair of bogies and a double to card a 2-under 69. Rory McIlroy, meanwhile, had a rough go of it, carding a 3-over 74. Defending champ Xander Schauffele was one better at 2-over.

The PGA Championship is the next golf major up, and all eyes will be on who wins at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. It's no surprise that the top two favorites are Scottie Scheffler (+450) and Rory McIlroy (+475).
